Feb 15 - A flower bulb. On March 28, 2009 at 8:30 p.m., local time, World Wildlife Fund is asking the world to turn off their lights for one hour -- Earth Hour -- to make a global statement of concern about climate change and to demonstrate their commitment to finding solutions. I thought this picture fit the misson. Click here to learn more.

How the picture happened (taken on Feb 14). While replacing the light fixture in my kitchen one of the bulbs broke off the old fixture without breaking the glass. I saved the bulb and placed it over an unopened flower and waited. After the flower opened, I drilled a hole in the metal screw part of the bulb and glued it back to the bottom of the globe. With a little putty, I was able to get the stem height just right and cut it so it could softly be placed in a lamp. The only thing I did wrong was not to use a polarizing filter on my 50mm lens. I wanted to go back and get this shot again with the filter to reduce the bulb's glare, but dropped and broke the bulb before that could happen. Dang!

• Decmeber 14 - Not real creative today. I was "feeling kinda Sunday" in front of the TV most of the day. ... I took the day off.
• December 15 - "I wuv you daddy."
• December 16 - Redheaded Stepchild
• December 17 - I took this photograph of Caroline last night as well. I thought I would go ahead and post as today's picture, so I could get on the same program as some of the other photographers that do the daily thing. So I am transitioning to posting yesterday's pictures today!. I guess that counts. All the pictures that I post in this gallery will still be taken less than 24 hours prior to the time that they are posted.
• December 18 - Walking in a winter wonderland.
• December 19 - Abstract. Anybody want to guess what this is (aside from my new desktop wallpaper)? I will tell you the answer when I post my Pic of the day tomorrow. I have started a new gallery of free downloadable Desktop Backgrounds (or wallpaper) that includes this picture. Go there now! .
• December 21 - My daughter, Annie. Yesterday she graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a B.S. in Biology and plans to pursue Pharmacy School. I am so proud of her!
• December 21 - Standing out in a crowd. Anyone can make a silly face, but there is always one that stands out from the rest.
• Jan 7 - Made the shot! and I got this shot at a basketball game last night. Getting back to my pic of the day efforts and settling back to work after a nice holiday break.
• Jan 03 - Playing with light, my 50mm prime lens and photoshop. Caroline was nice enough to model prior to heading out to a toga party.
• January 16 - The Ultimage Gym, Charlotte, NC
* note: The reason that I haven't been posting "dailys" lately is because I have been spending a fair amount of time in this gym. The sports pictures in this gym are part of the SportsImages Communitiy, so if you would like to comment on my work, I would love some comments in that section.

• Feb 01 - reposted after using a suggested plugin - I believe I can fly! This picture was actually taken at basketball game that I covered yesterday. Since I wasn't using flash during the game, I had no fill light. The original was too dark to PS, so I went with the shadows, even pumped them up a bit to create a more artistic image. That really didn't work, so I did a little research. Thanks to a fellow daily photographer for the new idea.
• Feb 2 - "Champions" - This picture is a few days old, but I pp this morning to make a poster.
